The Prodigal by Andrew Carney
First Dates by Niall Finnegan
Amigo Productions presents a double bill of two short plays showcasing emerging writing talent from Galway.
The Prodigal: Andy returns home for his brother’s funeral where he is reunited with his father, Benny with whom he has been estranged. Together they deal with their loss and make tentative steps towards reconnection. Dealing with subject matter that has become all too familiar, The Prodigal explores sibling love and sibling rivalry and raises questions about what it means to be a man in modern Ireland.
First Dates: The path to love is hard. Especially when you live with your mother! Michael is heading out on a blind date after his domineering mother places an ad in the Connacht Tribune. His attempts to make a good first impression are thwarted by a pretentious waiter and a phone that won’t stop ringing. First Dates is a sparky, hilarious farce that will have you rolling in the aisles.
A great night’s entertainment – don’t miss!.
