Have you always wanted to play the harp? Would you like to know more about the history and traditions of Ireland’s iconic, ancient instrument? If so, now’s your chance – come and join us: we will provide the instruments!
You may never have heard the early Irish harp before, though its image is on every euro coin. This is a rather special harp – Ireland’s ancient instrument – strung with brass wire. Played by Carolan, among others, until the turn of the nineteenth century, it is now being rediscovered and can be heard in Ireland once more.
