Director and Claire Pijman had access to thousands of Hi8 video diaries, pictures and polaroid’s that Müller photographed while he was at work on one of the more than 70 features he shot through his career; often with long-term collaborators such as Wim Wenders, Jim Jarmusch and Lars von Trier. Robby Müller’s work has been compared to painters like Vermeer and Hopper, other masters of light. Even when his films are finished, his images keep on moving. The light never fades because he always creates space for human emotions to come into the light. Living the Light is the story of that light.

In this inspirational and affecting documentary, the great visual storyteller Agnès Varda shares her observations on cinema, art and life. Still making films at 90 years old, she completed Varda by Agnès earlier this year and it premiered Out of Competition at the Berlin Film Festival in February this year. Sadly it became her final work as she passed away on the 29 March – but it is also a joyous celebration of a life in film. Whether behind the camera, or in front of it as she often was, Agnès Varda always defied a conventional approach. In Varda by Agnès, this multi-awardwinning and iconic filmmaker takes the audience on a journey through her remarkable life and career in her characteristically open and contemplative yet playful way.

Watergate tells, for the first time, the entire story of the Watergate scandal, from the first troubling signs in Richard Nixon’s presidency to Nixon’s resignation and beyond. Surprisingly, despite many excellent books and documentaries, the story of the Watergate scandal has never before been told in a truly comprehensive way. Crucially, the film also situates Watergate in the context of all the issues it raised – many of which, of course, now resonate powerfully with current events

It’s a tough but relatively peaceful place, until outlaw Dutch Gold and his gang take over, killing anyone who stands up to them. Patrick plays a dangerous game, profiting from the outlaws’ mayhem, but it is only a matter of time before he must protect his own from the bloodshed.
