With joy, the spark of the gods, Music for Galway ends its programme for Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture. Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, including the EU hymn Ode to Joy, will resound throughout the Galway Cathedral to celebrate 250 years since Beethoven’s birth, to celebrate this fantastic year for Galway and to celebrate its cultural connections with Europe. Choirs from all over Galway City and County will join the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and a star studded cast of soloists led by distinguished Irish conductor Kenneth Montgomery.
