This first concert presents early works of Ravel, starting with some simple piano works written as homages to other composers and finishing with one of his most punishing works. The famed Gaspard de la Nuit inspired by poetry by Aloysius Bertrand. In between we hear some early songs and one of Ravel’s most popular works, the Mother Goose Suite, for piano duet.
