The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is back for 2022 and will visit Galway’s Town Hall Theatre next Wednesday, May 11, with a selection of short action and adventure films
These films, from the wildest corners of the planet, were chosen from hundreds of entries into the Banff Mountain Film Festival, which is held every November in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Films being shown will include Exit the North Pole, focusing on polar explorers Børge Ousland and Mike Horn. In 24-hour darkness and with temperatures down to minus 40 degrees, the two attempt a 1,500km ski expedition across the frozen Arctic Ocean, via the North Pole. With drifting ice and the threat of polar bears, it’s a gruelling journey.
