IRISH FOLK music legends, The Fureys, best known for the songs ‘When You Were Sweet 16’, ‘The Green Fields Of France’, 'Red Rose Café’, ‘Leaving Nancy’, and ‘Steal Away’, return for their 14th visit to the Town Hall Theatre.
The band was formed in 1978. George, Paul, and Davey Furey were playing in Denmark with their own band called The Buskers. Eddie and Finbar, while touring in Germany were involved in a road accident. When George and Paul got news of this they travelled to Germany to be with their brothers. There they decided they should be playing together.
Finbar left the band in 1996 while Paul died suddenly in June 2002. However George and Eddie have continued touring and have released a new album, The Times They Are A Changing.
