There are 2 bike rails at Courthouse Square – one outside St Nicholas Primary School and one at the side of the Courthouse. Please use the bike rails - do not attach your bike to railings.
There are Coca Cola Zero Bike-Share Stations nearby, at Woodquay and opposite Galway Cathedral https://www.bikeshare.ie/
The closest bus stops are on nearby St Francis Street. Both Bus Eireann and City Direct operate along multiple routes in Galway and all bus routes from/to the Westside and most cross-city routes pass close to the Town Hall Theatre. For details, see link http://www.galwaytransport.info/2009/07/city-bus-services.html
There is normally sufficient on street parking in the environs of the Theatre and at Woodquay in the evenings. However, please allow for 5-10 minutes to find a space (and more at festival and especially Novena times). If spaces are unavailable, there are car parks at Galway Cathedral (5 mins walk) and the Dyke Road (7 mins walk).
Update 28 February 2022
From Monday 28 February, the use of face masks in theatres and cinemas is no longer mandatory. Please be aware that a number of low-key Covid-19 mitigation measures remain in place in both the Town Hall and Black Box to keep everyone safe, patrons who wish to continue to wear face masks in our theatres are more than welcome to do so and we ask that patrons do not attend an event in any of our venues if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
Thank you for your support for our endeavours throughout the pandemic - it is appreciated. And we look forward to seeing you all again soon!
