Frankie Gavin, Mairtin O’Connor & Johnny Duhan

Limited Capacity Show. Max 6 Tickets per purchase. Concert will also be livestreamed

Frankie Gavin, Mairtin O’Connor and Johnny Duhan will share the stage of the Town Hall Theatre, Galway, on Sat 3 July for a one-off live concert (which will also be livestreamed) that will see each of them perform solo works and collaborate on well-known instrumental pieces. This is a limited capacity show, max 6 tickets per purchase. Hear them play The Road West, The Queen of Sheba, The Belfast Hornpipe, Thomond Bridge, Joe Cooley’s Reels, and songs like The Voyage, Don’t Give up Till it’s Over and The Beacon.

And don’t miss Part of a Tribe, an anthem that the three musicians recorded with the cream of Galway’s finest folk and traditional musical community some years back (the Claddagh Band) for SVP. In light of the pandemic, the song’s theme of community co-operation and team spirit would seem to have even more relevance now as we struggle to put Covid behind us.

How did we revive, when we despaired, when our faith died;

When we lost our courage, when we wept and cried –

How did we ever revive?

As part of a tribe, we respected each other;

The law was inscribed that we love one another,

And though it wasn’t always applied, the law never died.
