Junk Ensemble’s DOLORES is a feminist reimagining of Vladimir Nabokov’s poetic and disturbing novel Lolita. Through darkly cinematic imagery, music, text and movement, three facets of a young girl are revealed: the neglected orphan, the candy-fed girl filled with American hopes and dreams, and the Dolores who lived - a woman full of fire and retribution.
The acclaimed cast of performers and musicians - including actors Derbhle Crotty and Mikel Murfi - lead the audience through an immersive installation of intricately designed rooms visited in the novel.
This is an installation performance, and the performance requires the audience to walk through the space, guided by the company.
